Cadlite started from a simple annoyance: a drawing arrives, and the only thing between you and a two-minute answer is a program that takes an hour to install and a licence you do not have.
What Cadlite is for
Cadlite is a 2D CAD editor that runs in a browser. It is for the drafters, engineers, contractors and students who need to open a plan, check it, change it and send it back - without a workstation, an install or a seat to free up.
It is deliberately a drafting tool rather than a simplified sketch app. The command line, the aliases, object snap, grips, layers, blocks, dimensions and hatch work the way desktop CAD taught everybody to expect, so there is nothing new to learn before the first line.
The AI assistant is built on the same foundation. It does not paint over the drawing; it calls the same operations a drafter does, one undo step at a time, so its work can be checked like anybody else's.
