Is the editor itself free?
Yes. Opening, drawing, editing, saving and exporting do not use tokens. Tokens are only used when the assistant does work for you.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Cadlite is an online CAD editor that runs in a modern browser tab on Windows, macOS, Linux or a Chromebook. There is no download, plug-in or licence server.
Can I open DWG and DXF files?
Yes. Cadlite is built to open and export both formats from the browser.
Will it feel familiar if I use AutoCAD?
Yes. Cadlite works the way desktop 2D CAD does: a command line with the usual aliases, object snap, grips, layers, blocks, dimensions and hatch. It is an independent product and is not affiliated with Autodesk.
Can my team work on the same drawings?
Yes, with an organization account. Drawings are saved to the cloud, and any member can share one with the organization so everyone else can open it and save their changes. Only the person who shared a drawing can delete it.
What uses tokens?
AI tasks such as tracing a plan, analysing a drawing or preparing a take-off. The amount depends on the task and the model.
Do tokens expire?
No. Tokens on your account stay until you use them. A monthly plan tops your balance back up to its allowance at the start of each month.
What happens when tokens run out?
The assistant pauses, but your drawings remain available. You can keep drafting and add tokens later.
